Your Greatest Treasure Lies Within-A Short Story About Self Discovery

John had been feeling down lately. He was the fourth generation scion of a wealthy merchant family, but he felt like he didn't really have much purpose in life. In the back of his mind, John knew there was something that could save him from his depression - an old family treasure hidden away for generations.
So one day after work, John decided to find out what this mysterious treasure was all about. After hours of searching through dusty attics and dark basements, he finally stumbled upon a small box tucked away in the corner of an old closet. Inside the box sat a single mirror with a note written by his great-great grandfather that read: "The only way you can be saved is to look into this mirror and see whose face it holds."
John nervously reached out and touched the glass surface; as soon as his fingers made contact with its coolness, an image appeared before him - it was himself! Startled at first glance, John quickly realized that the person looking back at him wasn't just any version of himself - it was who he used to be before all these years of sadness had taken hold over him.
He now understood why his ancestor wrote those words - because only by looking within oneself will we ever truly find what we are looking for in life; our own inner strength and courage is often enough to get us through even our darkest days! With newfound hope in his heart and confidence radiating from within him once again, John smiled happily knowing that he has found exactly what he needed more than anything else – himself!
